The Famous Five and their Ginger Beer

This is at best highly suspect. The phrase "lashings of ginger beer" was made up by the writers of The Comic Strip Presents ..., and never appears in any of Enid Blyton's books.

I do admit to having read a few Famous Five books in my youth, but you will not be surprised to hear that that was many years ago. So I can't claim to know how much ginger beer they actually drank. A quick search of the Internet suggests that the Five did indeed drink ginger beer, but they also drank lemonade; as to which was their favourite, it's impossible to tell.

Call me a killjoy; but while it's all very well setting comedy questions, they should at least be based on fact. I'm not convinced that this one is.
